CONSERVATION GROUPS & CHARITIES
10.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. The conservation trusts and charities working in our area are very important to our community, landscape and wildlife.  
Come and meet them, ask questions or just browse.

Venue:  Parish Church grounds and Market Square

ARTISAN MARKET: Food, Arts and Crafts
10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Local Food producers with delicious home baked goodies and freshly cooked food.

Venue:  Market Square

11.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Check out some of our fabulous local crafters and artists. Pick up something beautiful.

CLASSIC CARS
10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. A display of several vintage cars.

Venue:  Market Square, Kirkby Stephen

Many other attractions including a Roving Juggler and Alpacas

CAFÉ FOR THE DAY Women’s Institute

9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.  Fuel up with breakfast for the day ahead or pick yourself back up with afternoon tea, coffee and cake.  Home cooked with 
love.

BAKERY DEMONSTRATION
IVY COTTAGE BAKERY

1.30 p.m.– 2.30 p.m. 

 

Award winning bakers Mike and Marcella show you how to bake sumptuous Italian breads. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with a delightful Italian biscuit, then sample the bakes at the end of the demonstration.  £5.00.

RED SQUIRREL WALK
CUMBRIA WILDLIFE TRUST

Smardale Nature Reserve 12.00 noon – 2.30 p.m.

 

See if you can spot the elusive red squirrel on a guided walk, led by the Reserve’s warden. Suggested donation £5. Bring binoculars if you have them.

At 12.00 noon a bus will leave from a temporary bus stop outside the Pharmacy in Kirkby Stephen, returning at 2.30.

STEAM TRAIN JOURNEY
STAINMORE RAILWAY

10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.

 

A must see!  Our old station at the southern end of the town comes back to life with all the sights and sounds of a traditional steam station.  Experience the joy of steam power!

E-BIKE RIDE / DEMO

10.00 a.m.  5 mile ride “Churches & Villages”
 2.00 p.m. 10 mile ride “Fords & Flowers”

WINTON PARK GARDENS
APPLEBY ROAD

12 noon to 2.30 p.m.

 

A visit to Winton Park Gardens will uncover a hidden gem!  A stunning garden created from scratch.  It really is spectacular.

Venue:  A bus will leave from outside the Pharmacy at 12 noon and 1.15 p.m.

Followed by Freda Lodge performing a Westmorland 
Clog Dance in the Cloisters.

Something to keep the children interested.  A walking treasure hunt around the town.

WESTMORLAND DALES RUN
& JUNIOR FUN RUN

11.00 am. Choose an 8 mile or 4.5 mile loop.  Whatever you fancy.  Experience our gorgeous landscape on foot!


2.30 p.m. Send your kids on an exploration to make their own memories.  Children will be supervised by adults.

ARCHAEOLOGY WALK
WESTMORLAND DALES NATIONAL PARK

11.00 a.m.  Meet at Stenkrith Park car park for a 4 hour 5-6 Km walk in the beautiful Mallerstang Valley led by an YDNP archaeologist.

 

Take a packed lunch.

PEBBLE PAINTING

12.00 noon - 1.00 p.m. & 2.00 p.m 3.00 p.m.


Children of all ages come and try your hand at creating your own design.  Protective aprons provided.

Demonstrations of this ancient sport.

LADY ANNE CLIFFORD 
IN THE WESTMORLAND DALES

A dramatic costume performance in two parts.

12.30 p.m. A Classic Coach leaves Kirkby Stephen travelling through beautiful countryside to Pendragon Castle for the first part of the performance.

2.30 p.m.  The second part of the performance begins with a promenade of the musician and cast along Market Street through the Cloisters to Church Green where at 3.00 p.m. the Border Pipes will be played, prior to the performance at  3.15 p.m.
